Helen Hughes

Dr Helen Hughes completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at the Nottingham Trent University before working in a variety of NHS and voluntary sector settings including occupational health, pain management, and acute psychiatric services. She undertook doctoral clinical psychology training at Surrey University, before going on to work in the NHS specialising in adult mental health as well as in the private and corporate sectors. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the British Psychological Society and is regulated by the Health Professions Council.

Helen works integratively drawing primarily on cognitive behavioural therapy including mindfulness-based techniques, and also integrating ideas from systemic and psychodynamic approaches. This is to enable the intervention to be individually tailored to meet a client’s unique needs.

Helen has experience of working with clients across the lifespan experiencing a range of difficulties, including:
