Deborah Mitchell MBACP (Accred) UKRCP Registered

Deborah is a BACP accredited counsellor, mindfulness teacher and coach, offering humanistic, FIRO and mindfulness based approaches in her work with individuals, couples and groups.

Deborah runs The 8-Week Mindfulness Course for Stress and Well-Being and a Mindfulness drop-in group here at The Cornmill in East Grinstead. In addition to this, she runs introductory courses in Mindfulness in Crawley Down and weekly mindfulness groups within one of central London’s private mental health hospitals.

She trained to run the 8-Week Mindfulness Course with Cindy Cooper in London and at The University of Bangor.

She has a particular interest in Stress Reduction, Self Esteem and Relationships, and prior to setting up her own private practice, she worked for 7 years within the field of organizational development consultancy, specializing in the psychology of relationships and emotional intelligence.

As a FIRO Master Practitioner, she is certified to offer the FIRO suite of psychometrics to assist clients in their deepening of awareness.

She has many years experience of working in business in a variety of roles and understands the challenges of managing business processes, group dynamics and interpersonal relationships.
Professional qualifications and training include:

  • 3 yrs Advanced Diploma in Humanistic Counselling (including foundation year)
  • 2 yrs Master Practitioner Diploma in FIRO Theory (a theory of group process facilitation and interpersonal relationships)
  • Certified to administer FIRO Elements of Awareness that include B(behaviour), S(self concept) and E(self esteem)
  • Certificate and Basic Certificate in Contextual Couples Counselling
  • Mindfulness Teacher Development Level 1 for Stress Reduction (Bangor University)
