Therapies

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is known to release endorphins and other chemical substances in the body, and is therefore a natural healing method.  Fine needles are painlessly inserted along the meridian energy lines throughout the body and can be used to help physical and emotional imbalances.  It is also used for preventative medicine.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
This involves use of natural plants and minerals; each has its own specific characteristics and particular medicinal use for treating diseases.  It can be used on its own or alongside acupuncture.

FRA
FRA is a treatment incorporating facial massage and acupuncture.  Fine needles are inserted into specific areas of the face stimulating the flow of energy, increasing blood flow, assisting lymphatic drainage and transforming blocked Qi (energy) to the face.  An Electro-acupuncture machine is also used producing a small electric charge between two needles.  The result is normally a fresher healthier glow to the skin.

Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone massage dates back over 3000 years and originated in India and China.  This therapy embraces the philosophy of mind, body and spirit.  Prolonged application of Hot Stones softens and relaxes the muscles allowing for a more intense massage.  Basalt, thermal stones are heated and placed on different areas of the body.  The heated stones are then used in the massage giving a longer lasting effect with greater benefit to the muscles.  Cold stones are used to reduce inflammation and stimulate circulation.  This treatment gives a deeper level of relaxation.

Sports Massage
This is used to treat acute injuries and reduces secondary tension.  It increases circulation, aids muscle fatigue and improves flexibility, reducing the risk of further injury and improving performance.

TCM
In some cases a combination of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs are used to treat conditions such as :

  • Asthma
  • Back pain
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Insomnia
  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Migraines
  • Stress
  • Tennis elbow

Benefits
I offer free consultation lasting approximately 20 minutes in order to allow the client time to consider if they wish to go ahead with treatment.  Questions regarding treatment length can also be discussed, taking into consideration individual factors.  Most treatments last between 2-6 weeks.
