Angela Noon, DCH, DHP

Background
I qualified as a Hypnotherapist with the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis at London’s King’s College.  I am on the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) and validated as a practitioner by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC). I gained the Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis (DCH) and the Advanced Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (DHP) and I continue to develop my skills and update my techniques with regular, ongoing training.

I am certified with the Michael Newton Institute as a Life Between Lives Spiritual Integration Therapist and have been involved in complementary therapies as a consultant writer for many years.  As such, I am well practiced in understanding how hypnotherapy can help make important and positive differences.  I have trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and colour therapy and I work with Reiki healing. It is my cherished desire as a therapist to work with my clients to help them make positive, life-enhancing changes.

Therapies

Hypnotherapy
I describe the experience of hypnotherapy as ‘deep relaxation combined with guided attitude change.’  Hypnosis is a natural state of relaxation into which we all go every time we rest between sleeping and waking, and is calming to both mind and body.  Relaxing the body and its conscious processes in this way make it possible to tap into the inner, more powerful subconscious mind, in which all our deepest feelings, memories and habits are stored.  In this deeply relaxed state, positive therapeutic suggestions are more readily received. The purpose of hypnotherapy is to help you regain control through altered perception and attitude.  Whether this is in relation to giving up a habit that has negative consequences or making positive life changes, the aim of my hypnotherapy work is to place you firmly back in the driving seat.

Hypnotherapy can assist with many positive habit changes, rebalance fears and phobias, help develop a positive outlook and assist with many of life’s challenges.  The following are just some of the issues with which hypnotherapy can be very effective:

  • Managing tension and stress, reducing anxiety
  • Increasing confidence and self esteem
  • Sleep problems
  • Emotional trauma and fears
  • Issues surrounding weight management
  • Managing IBS
  • Giving up negative habits such as smoking and nail biting

Unique benefits

My role as a Hypnotherapist is to help my clients to successfully achieve a wide range of goals and transformations. This often involves discussing deeply personal issues in a safe, confidential and nurturing environment.

Enhanced experience
To assist my clients to reach the state of hypnotic relaxation more effectively, I use a sound system with headphones.  This makes it possible for the mind to focus on my voice and relaxation music (if used) without having to be concerned about external noises and distraction.  Many of my clients say this gives them an enhanced hypnotic experience; though use of the headphones is, of course, optional.

Regression therapy
Where regression to experiences in this life, a possible past life or where spiritual regression to the between-lives state may affect present day challenges, I include regression therapy in my practice.  This unique experience has benefited many seeking to come to terms with present day issues.

Appointments
I see clients at the Cornmill on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, and at least once a month on Monday evenings.  The initial appointment lasts for 1½ hours; during which time I will ask questions, listen closely to your challenges and clarify your goals for treatment, decide on the appropriate course of action and give your first treatment.  Further appointments usually last for one hour. Past life regression work takes a minimum of two hours and life between lives spiritual integration takes around four hours
